  • Visual Arts
    • Animals, Animals Everywhere!
      • Ages: 5-8

        Come Explore the wild, wacky world of animals, insects and fish. From deep sea monsters to delicate butterflies, dinosaurs to puppy dogs! With tempera paint, paper mache, sculpture, and more, we'll creat many colorful creatures!

    • Art Exploration
      • Ages 8-12

        Here is a great opportunity to explore teh wvarious mediums used by artists to create their masterpieces:

        Week 1: Color pastel for still lifes

        Week 2: Color pastels for self-portraits

        Week 3: Watercolor landscapes

        Week 4: Watercolor animals

        Weeks 5 & 6: Clay sculpture - anything goes!

        Week 7: Acrylic study of old masters

        Week 8: Acrylic abstracts

    • Creating Comics and Cartoons
      • Ages 8-12

        Learn about the history and styles of professional comics and cartoons. Then create your own characters, develop a story line and setting, and learn how to add color, depth and variation to your drawings. By the final session you will be able to put together a professional style comic book!

  • Performing Arts
    • Best of Broadway
      • ages 8-12

        Learn and perform songs from some of Broadway's most popular shows! The program culminates in a final performance - costumes, props, and, of course, a full house!

    • Resident Artist and Organization Performing Art Classes
      • Howard County Ballet challenges dancers to reach their full potential by providing superior ballet training for all levels and ages with additional instruction in Modern, Jazz, Tap, and Character. Limited class enrollment according to age and level in a supportive, non-competitive environment. Classes take place in HCB's studio 17 and the HCCA dance studio.         Chesapeake Shakespeare Company-Stuck on Shakespeare Ages 11-14. Get stuck on Shakespeare as we explore language, characters and the fun of performing the best plays around. Students will develop basic acting, character creation, plus, learn songs and stage combat all to be performed for family and friends during the last class.
